Upexi expanded its Solana holdings to 2.5 million tokens, valued at over $238 million, making it the second-largest publicly traded corporate holder of Solana after Forward Industries. Despite this milestone, the company’s shares dropped 8.16% on Tuesday following the release of its fiscal third-quarter earnings report, which showed a widened net loss of $109 million largely tied to declining crypto asset values.
According to the company’s filing, Upexi recorded $92.3 million in unrealized losses on digital assets during the quarter. However, total revenue still climbed 46% year-over-year to $4.6 million, mainly driven by income from crypto staking activities.
During the earnings call, CEO Allan Marshall acknowledged the difficult market conditions affecting both Upexi and the broader crypto sector. He explained that the prolonged decline in Solana prices and weakening industry valuations directly impacted the company’s stock performance amid the ongoing crypto bear market. At the same time, Marshall emphasized that Upexi is actively working to strengthen its financial position through initiatives such as share buybacks and a convertible note offering aimed at raising additional capital.

Marshall also noted that the company increased its Solana holdings by 9% during the quarter and remains optimistic about Solana’s long-term potential. He argued that, while Solana’s price is currently closely linked to Bitcoin’s performance, investors may eventually begin valuing the two assets independently because they serve very different purposes. According to him, Bitcoin functions primarily as a store of value or “digital gold,” whereas Solana represents a next-generation computing and financial infrastructure platform.
Upexi previously operated in the consumer products and e-commerce sectors before officially pivoting toward becoming a Solana treasury company in April 2025. Meanwhile, Forward Industries — currently the largest corporate Solana treasury holder with more than 7 million tokens — is expected to release its next earnings report on Thursday. In its previous quarterly results, the company reported revenue growth from $4.6 million to $21.4 million, largely fueled by staking revenue.
